State Administration of Work Safety


The State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) is an organization directly under the State Council for overall supervision of work safety in factories, mines, commercial and trade businesses and inspection of workplace occupational health.


The relevant departments and organizations of the State Council are respectively in charge of the safety supervision and administration in the area of transportation, railway, civil aviation, water conservancy, construction, national defense, postal services, telecommunications, tourism, special equipment, fire protection, nuclear safety. The SAWS, from the comprehensive supervision and administration of the national work safety perspective, is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising the above-mentioned departments’ work safety supervision and administration. General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ)is responsible for operators appraisal,the safety inspection and accident investigation of the special equipment.
